Contemporary Nature Symposium at MASS MoCA, March 13 & 14
March 12, 2026Join me this Sunday at the Clark Art Institute's Book Arts Expo
I'm looking forward to being part of the Clark Art Institute's Book Arts Expo for the second year in a row. There are loads of awesome book-related events going on throughout the day, and then you can swing over to the Michael Conforti Pavilion! I’ll be tabling with some of my favorite local bookmakers. I’ll have letterpress cards, books, and some of my recycled cardboard bound books + some of my Plunder Books, including the cotton baby diaper book!
Featured exhibitors: Lisa Hersey, Kylie Gellatly Haylight, Seaton Street Press, Mundus Press, Passenger Pigeon Press, Siglio Press, Melanie Mowinski, Red Trillium Press, Nine Syllables Press, Thorsten Dennerline / The Bird Press, Looky Here, Valerie Carrigan, Molly Rideout, Anita Gangi Balkun, Chris Moody, Kareem Michael Worrell, Inpatient Press, Publication Studio, Vehicle Editions, Emily Larned, Stephanie Trotto.
I'm excited to debut a few things, including an adaptation of Hedi Kyle's Fish Fold form into a mermaid tail book. The book features a conversation between Elizabeth Marble, the wife and log keeper of her husband's ship and a mythical mermaid spirit who lives in the sea. You see, Elizabeth's husband dies on this voyage. And she has to continue forward. On the ship. In the 1800's. With her son, and not one female friend. Can you imagine? The book is in progress, and you'll get to see where it is on Sunday! Pictured is a mock-up form--but I'll have the real deal on Sunday.
