The Quantified Self
October 19, 2013Walking in the woods at night
November 10, 2013In my fantasy world–I envision this perfect morning:
- wake-up, read, drink coffee
- make a drawing/collage or something based on that reading, or other
- update my calendar
- practice yoga
- vigorous movement: running, biking, kettlebell-swinging-something, jump rope, etc
- prepare for work
I’m lucky if I get to do 3-4 of these things–I’m sure you understand. And those of you who know how I get up in the morning will understand even more how miraculous doing anything beyond preparing for work can be!
Today I begin to anticipate the transition to returning to my small calendar entries–and with that returning to making a collage/drawing based on the different morning readings I like to do. On and Off the Page closed this weekend, and with it ends this very public practice of posting that daily practice. Today is the last time I will post the larger calendars.
Thank you for checking-in! I am looking forward to seeing where this very regular consideration of my calendar project will take me. See you next time!

Dearest, You inspire me to quantify my morning practice, capture it. Yesterday in my writing workshop, I asked the writers to describe what they did between 9 and 10 am…it was a Sunday of course, so the activities are different, but the regular habits of artisitic people reveal so much. Thank you for this post and I, as always, love stopping in here. xooxox S
Thank you Suzi–I would love to come to one of your writing workshops…
