Here Stands
November 6, 2016Advent 2016 begins
December 1, 2016The first Sunday in Advent. A time to sent intentions, to hold a place in the heart for some kind of quiet practice, a time to look for the light inside and ways to share or express it with others.
As I move through this month, I am working on those lessons that continue to circle in my life, knowing that the circling will continue and continue, overwhelming me sometimes, until I let it go.
Sudden Light
I have been here before,
But when or how I cannot tell:
I know the grass beyond the door,
The sweet keen smell,
The sighing sound, the lights around the shore.
You have been mine before,–
How long ago I may not know:
But just when at that swallow’s soar
Your neck turn’d so,
Some veil did fall,–I knew it all of yore.
Has this been thus before?
And shall not thus time’s eddying flight
Still with our lives our love restore
In death’s despite,
And day and night yield one delight once more?
Dante Gabriel Rossetti
I will begin my own practice on December 1, writing and making a collage for each day of this season of anticipation. Perhaps you have followed along in the past. I invite you to become a subscriber here or follow me on Instagram. And while you are here, take a peek around my website. It’s had a little revamp–finishing the final touches in the next couple of weeks!
