My homage to HOLSTEE–in progress.
November 6, 2012Meditation begins with little dots
November 18, 2012How is it possible that it is nearly Thanksgiving. Okay, a couple more weeks, but seriously. Where does the time go?
When I get to this point in the year, and I see that my calendar is nearly filled, I start to wonder about how I have been spending my time, I revisit those resolutions and wonder.
I keep thinking about Gretchen Rubin’s phrase, the days are long but the years are short When talking with friends with kids, or hanging out with my nieces and nephews, especially when they were small, I was amazed at how time would crawl by, crawl by–yet how I would struggle to be with it, to feel it, the slowness, the action, the silliness, the running and screaming and tossing a little human in the air until their mom or dad called us in for something. But then all of a sudden, they are 16, 15, 14 and 12, and 4 and 1. How did that happen?
Part of my happiness project includes attempts to slow down my days, and do my best to be mindful in all of my actions–to be with each moment. I want to remember that this is it, these slow days, these fast days and be fully in that now as they go by.
